Maht Gaek in Carrollton, TX, is a bustling Korean restaurant known for its delicious ribs and traditional Korean dishes. The atmosphere is lively, with Korean families enjoying the flavorful food. The service is standard but efficient, focusing on delivering the popular original ribs that customers rave about. The ribs are marinated and grilled to perfection, accompanied by traditional Korean sides like kimchi and fish cake. The standout dish, however, is the seafood pancake, crispy on the outside and bursting with fresh seafood inside. While the ribs are a must-try, the pancake steals the show and is worth a return visit.

Excellent restaurant. I had the ribs, original. It is their most popular item. The ribs have a nice kick to it. They gave a lot of meat in my to go box along with good amount of sides. The side dishes were delicious along with the meat. The service was great for to-go. The food was prepared in about 20 minutes. The ambience was also very inviting and friendly.

Hands down has to be one of my favorite korean restaurants. Everything here SLAPS. The pork ribs are juicy and flavorful, crispy seafood pancake, a little thick though, but packed with seafood. The cold noodles are perfect for this summer heat and the spicy tofu soup has some heat to it. The spicy stir-fried squid is bomb! The service is good, very attentive during a full house! The atmosphere is just like a typical Korean restaurant, nothing crazy. Follow @aanthonyate on Instagram/TikTok for more eats in Dallas - Ft. Worth and abroad!

The short ribs were delicious. They weren't too sweet either. The seafood pancake was thick and yummy. The Korean army soup tasted good and was a large serving. We had enough for 4 people and plenty of leftovers.

Still can't get enough of the Korean restaurant after a week! I declare Maht Gaek to have the best seafood cakes, miso crab, and pork chops in Dallas! The Seafood Pancake was so full of ingredients, two jumbo shrimp and all kinds of seafood meat. The exterior is crispy and not greasy, and the two of them finished it off with a crazy dazzle. The Marinated Crab was served in a small portion, but it was still a big pot. I had a great time eating it, and the best part was that every crab had crab yolk, so it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at removing crab legs, so I wasted a lot of meat. Grilled Pork Ribs Besides Texas BBQ's pork ribs, it can be called the ceiling of my heart for grilled pork ribs! The pork chop was tender and easy to fall off the bone, and the portion was very generous. Grateful for the pork!

the seafood pancake is a MAIN here, not an appetizer!!! definitely one of the better seafood pancakes i've had at korean places. always get the original pork ribs. however i feel like the plano locations ribs are cooked to my taste more, slightly more dry and the meat SURROUNDING the ribs instead of hanging off like a flap. also got stir fried squid and that was a huge portion, actually took it home and sauteed some more rice cakes into it for more meals to eat throughout the week lol. service was fast and there's always a wait. definitely a good reason why this place is popular.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants at this time! My family's to go entrees are pork ribs (both spicy and non-spicy versions are good), seafood pancakes, and spicy neck bone soup. Never fails. I've tried spicy stir-fried squid and spicy squid and pork belly bulgogi, and they were also very good. Their banchans are all fresh and yummy. Fast and courteous service. If you haven't tried Maht gaek yet, go try!

The best Korean pork ribs I've ever had! They are perfectly charred, savory, and you get a very good portion size! Also the banchan they serve here is addicting, we finished it and asked for another round before any of our entrees came. The seafood pancake was also great, filled with whole shrimp and super crispy. I originally came here wanting to try the marinated crab, but they didn't have it so it might be a seasonal thing? We came on a Saturday night, so it was pretty packed. Waited for about 30 minutes before getting seated. The restaurant does get a bit loud, but I could still hold a conversation just fine.

Food Where do I start!? Everything had sooo much flavor and the right amount of spice. I had the Ox Brisket Soup and the meat was really tender, the noodles cooked well, and the dipping sauce (mix of soy and spicy mustard) had just the right touch of tanginess to offset the savoriness of the meat. I tried some of my friend's Pork Neck-bone Soup and that pork was fall-off-the-bone tender! All the accouterments were on point with my personal favorite being the fish cake. You have the savoriness, you have the salty, you have a hint of sweet. Service Quick, attentive, food came out before I was even settled in lol. Ambiance Just walking around and seeing the tables full of these huge hot pots I felt like we didn't order enough food lol. Nice spot, easy to get to IMO and had nice music in the background.

My family and I went on a Saturday night around 8:30 and found the place packed. The servers tried their best to get everyone seated as quick as possible, and we were fortunate to get a table after about 30 minutes. The decor of the place is fun - with plenty of Jinro (the soju brand) items and posters on the walls. The food here comes in large portions and is slightly more pricy for what you might find elsewhere. Regardless, I think the food to price ratio is quite good. The flavors are good and presentation very good. My favorite dish of the three we ordered was the seafood pancake. It came in a large sizzling platter and was crispy with plenty of seafood mixed in. I also thoroughly enjoyed the original BBQ ribs which featured a Korean tang and slight sweetness.

Maht Gaek is a Korean restaurant in Carrollton's fast growing Korean community that is known for delicious ribs and traditional Korean fare. If you are looking for an alternative to Korean BBQ, Maht Gaek should be on your list. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Maht Gaek was bustling with people on my Wednesday evening visit. There was a short wait, and every table was filled with patrons. It's very noisy with many Korean customers (this is a very good sign) and their families. 1 Star. Service - They are extremely busy. Our service was standard for a typical Asian restaurant. The server took our order, brought our food to our table, and once done we paid in the back. Don't expect great service - but don't worry the food makes up for it. 1/2 Star. Food - A quick glance at the many Yelp reviews all mention the Original Ribs. Yes, please and thank you. We put in two orders for our group of six, and the ribs did not disappoint. The ribs are marinated and grilled and paired with traditional Korean sides like kim chi, fish cake, and marinated cumbers. The ribs had a nice char flavor and had meat that you can cut with scissors. I chose to eat with my hands to make sure I got the most meat off the bone. We also ordered a seafood pancake, which turned out to be the best seafood pancake I've ever had. Full stop. The pancake has a nice crunchy outside and a warm, soft inside full of fresh herbs and seafood. Maht Gaek does not skimp on the seafood either. There are large prawns, squid, and a nice soy dipping sauce to complete the dish. I enjoyed the pancake more than the ribs. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes but....I came for the ribs but would comeback for the pancake. I had a great experience, but outside of the ribs, I'm not sure if Maht Gaek would make it into my monthly rotation. Still worth a visit if you've never been. 1/2 Stars.
